– ASZ-2 Healthcare Act
- Article 1 – Mandatory health insurance
- Every citizen within this jurisdiction must hold a health insurance policy that meets the legal coverage requirements.
- The insurance must provide appropriate coverage for medical costs and healthcare in line with applicable rules.
- Article 2 – Fine for not having insurance
- A citizen who fails to obtain mandatory health insurance is subject to a €1,500 fine.
- The fine applies if insurance is not obtained within the legal timeframe or if the policy does not meet legal requirements.
- Competent authorities may impose the fine after an appropriate compliance investigation.
- Article 3 – Exceptions
- In cases of financial hardship, a citizen may request an exemption from the obligation to obtain health insurance.
- Requests are assessed against predefined criteria and may result in temporary exemption or other measures.
- Article 4 – Bank benefit for insurance premium
- Citizens may apply at the bank for a benefit intended to cover health insurance premium costs.
- Applications are assessed based on financial need and other established criteria.
- If approved, the benefit is paid directly to the insurer to cover the premium.
- Article 5 – Enforcement
- Competent authorities enforce this law and may take appropriate measures to ensure compliance.
- Authorities may request insurance information and perform inspections to verify compliance.
- Article 6 – Entry into force
- This law enters into force on a date set by the competent authorities and applies immediately to all citizens in the jurisdiction.
